PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an N×N optical multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit having a periodical input/output relation and no loss in principle. SOLUTION: Optical signals inputted from four pieces of input transmission lines 21 to four input ports of an array waveguide grating type optical multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit 23, respectively wavelength-multiplexed/ demultiplexed signals are outputted to four output ports. They are arranged to be the optical signals containing only the optical signals inputted at every plural input line 21 while they have the same wavelength constitution by the array waveguide grating type optical multiplexing/demultiplexing circuits 24, 25, and they are wavelength-multiplexed/deultiplexed symmetrically with the array waveguide grating type optical multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit 23 by the array waveguide type optical multiplexing/demultiplexing circuit 26, and then, outputted to four pieces of output transmission lines 22 as the optical signals having a periodical wavelength arrangement corresponding to the inputs. |
