PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell, which can be activated at low temperature and is superior in a heat cycle characteristic and high strength. SOLUTION: This solid electrolyte fuel cell comprises a support film type unit cell 7 and a separator 3. The support film type unit cell 7 is formed, whereby a film of a solid-electrolyte layer 4 consisted of a zirconia sintered body doped with yttria, etc., (YSZ) is formed on a substrate of a porous fuel electrode 5 composed of cermet and an air electrode 6 is formed on the solid electrolyte layer 4. The separator 3 consists of a separator 1 and a ceramic manifold 2. A plurality of oxidant gas passages 1b are formed on the under surface of the separator 1 opposite to the top surface of the air electrode 6. Recess 11 for fit-accommodating the unit cell 7 is formed at the approximately center of the ceramic manifold 2 opposite to the under surface of the fuel electrode 5. A plurality of fuel gas passages 2b are formed under the recess 11, opposite to the under surface of the fuel electrode 5. The support film type unit cell 7 and the separator 3 are layered alternately. A member 9 for gas sealing is between the separator 1 and the ceramic manifold 2. The member 9 for gas sealing is between the separator 3 and the electrodes 5 and 6, and a layered product is assembled. |
