PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement combustion operation even if a damper malfunctions in a combustion apparatus. SOLUTION: In a combustion apparatus for combustion operation according to a closing position of a valve disk (a damper 60) disposed on a draft route of air toward a combustion part (a burner 30), combustion operation in a small range side of combustion capacity is enabled by recognizing that the valve disk 60 is not driven to a specified position by malfunction of the valve disk 60 on the basis of output of detecting means (a limit switch 62) when the valve disk 60 is driven so as to change draft rate.
