An electrical component, comprises an electrically controllable shape memory metal (3) and a compensation device (4) for unexpected metal temperature change. An electrical component comprises: (a) an electrically controllable shape memory metal (3), through which a preferably pulsed current is passed for heating and thus shape alteration; and (b) a compensation device (4) for at least partial compensation of unexpected metal temperature change, which is within a temperature range below the metal transformation temperature and which results in a change of the current required for attaining a predetermined heating temperature, so that, during temperature-independent constant current supply, only the current still required to achieve the predetermined heating temperature needs to be passed through the metal. Preferred Features: The compensation device is a hot conductor (5), connected in parallel with the metal (3), or a cold conductor connected in series with the metal.
