A block (20) for storing cylindrical objects has a concave upper surface (90) with a prismatic surface texture which prevents the object rolling to either side. Cylindrical objects are secured on a block at each end. The bottom surface of the block is profiled to clip into a similar, inverted block to form a stack of stored items. The block design accommodates a range of diameters and many blocks are placed parallel to one another.
