<p>An apparatus for and a method of measuring an outer diameter of a worked portion at a pipe end, by which an outer diameter of an end of pipe of various sizes is rapidly and precisely measured; the apparatus comprising a main arm (1), a lower gauge head support arm (2), a bearing roller arm (3), an upper gauge head support arm (4), a presser roller arm (5), a position fixing metal fitting (6), a gauge head (14b) supported by the arm (2) to be movable horizontally and vertically, a gauge head (15b) supported by the arm (4) to be movable horizontally and vertically, and gauge heads (14a, 15a) which are movable vertically. An outer diameter of an article being measured is measured by the gauge heads while the article is rotatably held by rollers (10a, 10b, 11a, 11b) on the arms (3, 5). The measurement can be effected simultaneously at two locations in a lengthwise direction of the article being measured.</p> |
