The invention relates to an austenitic nickel-molybdenum alloy of outstanding corrosion resistance in reducing media and excellent thermal stability in the temperature range between 650 and 950 degrees Celsius characterised by the composition which comprises: from 26.0 to 30,0 wt% of Mo, from 1.0 to 7.0 wt % of Fe, from 0.4 to 1,5 wt% of Cr, 1.5 wt% of Mn, 0.05 wt% of Si, 2.5 wt% of Co, 0.04 wt% of P, 0.01 wt% of S, from 0.1 to 0,5 wt% of Al, 0.1 wt% of Mg, 1.0 wt% of Cu, 0.01 wt% of C, 0.01 wt% of N. The remainder being nickel and usual impurities resulting from smelting, the total of the contents of interstitially dissolved elements (carbon + nitrogen) being limited to a maximum of 0.015% and the total of the elements (aluminium + magnesium) having been adjusted within the limits 0.15 to 0.40%.
|
