PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance durability at the time of use in printing work by using a computer controlled laser cutting tool when an elastomer layer is subjected to image cutting, stripping unnecessary materials and hardening an adhesive layer. SOLUTION: A flexographic plate is produced by cutting the outline of a protruding region mechanically and stripping unnecessary elastomer wherein an elastomer layer 2 is fixed to a dimensionally stabilized substrate 1 using a vulcanizable/curable presuure-sensitive adhesive layer 3. An upper layer 4 can be used for imparting special characteristics like a hydrophilic surface for good wetting by an aqueous coating. The substrate 1 is made of metal, preferably polyester, and after a desired outline is cut using a computer controlled laser cutting tool, unnecessary material 5 is stripped off and residual elastomer adheres to the substrate 1 through radiation or heating thus obtaining adhesive resisting against corrosion by a solvent existing in the coating.
