PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cassette capable of prolonging the life of an ID board without giving damages to a contact of the ID board by terminals of a hard device. SOLUTION: This magnetic tape cassette is provided with the cassette case consisting of an upper cassette half and a lower cassette half 13 which are provided with flat plates and circumferential walls erected on these flat plates, and the ID board 1 for identifying the kind, the use, etc., of the magnetic tape. The ID board 1 is assembled into the cassette case in parallel against the flat plate in the vertical direction of the cassette half 13.
