摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To statically, non-destructively, easily, and accurately diagnose the judgment or the like of the defect and remaining life of a work consisting of a magnetic material or a material being magnetized due to machining that is covered with or is buried into a non-magnetic material using a magnetic sensor without applying a magnetic field or the like. SOLUTION: In a method, a magnetic sensor 10 is moved without any contact along the surface of a work 20 consisting of a magnetic material covered with a non-magnetic material or a material being magnetized due to machining the magnetic flux density of the work 20 is detected without excitation by a coil or the like, and the obtained detection signal is subjected to image analysis, thus obtaining an isomagnetic potential line diagram. In this method, the defect of the work 20 is diagnosed according to the isomagnetic potential line diagram. Also, a device performs the image analysis of the magnetic flux density of the work 20 and obtains the isomagnetic potential line diagram and at the same time compares the obtained isomagnetic potential line diagram with a reference isomagnetic potential line diagram being stored in advance for judgment, thus diagnosing the defect of the work 20.
