PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To wash off the cargo and refuse in a hold with streams when the hold is opened by providing stream exhaust nozzles spouting water obliquely upward toward the center section of the hold at fixed intervals in the longitudinal direction between the center section of the hold and both side walls. SOLUTION: A hull is split at the center section 4 of the hold wall of a hold. A hold bottom is horizontal, and stream exhaust nozzles 2 spouting water horizontally are provided at the lower sections of both side walls. Stream exhaust nozzles 2' spouting water obliquely upward are provided between both side walls and the center section 4 on the hold bottom. This split box/barge conveys sediment on it. When the center section 4 is opened, sediment is dropped from the center section 4, however some sediment is left at corner sections. When streams are spouted from the stream exhaust nozzles 2, 2', the cargo and refuse accumulated at the corner sections of the hold bottom can be wholly dropped from an opening formed at the center section 4 of the hold bottom. After all of them are washed off by streams, the hold bottom is closed as the box barge.
