PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely transform a character form such as a considerable change in an outline and thickness of a character, an addition of variegated expressions, etc., and also immediately execute the transformation and efficiently process the transformation even when transforming each character in a document at a time, by storing frequency fonts, expressing outlines of characters by sets of discrete spatial frequency elements, with the fonts made to correspond to various characters. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 fetches a character-code of an object to be outputted, and retrieves a frequency font storage part 2-2 based on this character-code to read out the pertinent frequency font. The frequency font has a data structure according to the development mode of a discrete Fourier series, and a transformation font transformed in the outline of the character by processing the data composing the structure. This transformation font is converted into coordinate data by the inverse Fourier transform. Thus the character font is developed and outputted on this coordinate data. |
