PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a steel sheet for an inner frame for realizing the lightening the weight of a cathode-ray tube without using an expensive material and to provide a method for producing it. SOLUTION: A steel compsn. composed of, by weight, <=0.3% C, 0.1 to 1.0% Si and 0.5 to 2.0% Mn and also satisfying the relation in the inequality is added with one or >= two kinds selected from the groups of <=1.0% Nb, <=1.0% V, <=1.0% Ti and <=1.0% W. If required, <=5.0% Cr or <=0.005% B may be incorporated therein.
