PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a required space, to make a body fat meter small and to reduce work manhour by exposing the surface of an electrode group to the outside of main body cases so as to permit it to be brought into contact with a subject and to measure his impedance. SOLUTION: Recessed parts with respect to main body cases 8a and 8b are formed on the front surface of the body fat meter, where the electrodes 1a, 1b, 2a and 2b are brought into contact with a subject, and the electrodes 1a-2b are brought into contact with the fingers of the subject. Besides, the fingers are stably brought into contact along the recessions. Therefore, it is prevented that areas being brought into contact with the electrodes 1a-2b are changed whenever a body fat rate is measured and that a measurement reproducibility is reduced. The electrodes 1a-2b are formed on a printed board 9 by exposing a conductor in the printed board 9 after scraping a resist at electrode forming places. Then, the number of parts is reduced, miniaturization is attained and work manhour is reduced.
