PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive the prevention and removal of the diffusion of soot, generated on a cooking plate, as well as the reduction of generating sources of the soot to obtain a heating cooker, capable of retaining the cooking surface thereof in a clean condition at all times without providing a cooking area with any restriction. SOLUTION: A heating cooker is provided with a heating generating body 3, arranged at the lower surface side of the cooking surface of a cooking plate 2, a plurality of suction ports 5, provided on the cooking plate at positions which are not opposed to the heat generating body 3, a filter 8 for removing soot 12 generated from a food on the cooking surface, air outlet ports 9, provided on the peripheral rim of the cooking surface, an air suction means 7, sucking the soot through a plurality of suction ports 5 to remove the soot through the filter 8 and, thereafter, exhausting the same through a ventilating passage 10 so as to restrain the diffusion of the soot on the cooking surface, and a receiving pan 6 provided below the suction ports 5.
