PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for testing a quality of a rewritten recording media are to test a quality of a rewritten recording media from a region in which a fault is easily occurred, minimize a quality test time, and increase a test efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A method for testing a quality of a rewritten recording media comprises: a detecting step(10-14) for detecting a fault region in a recording region of a recording media; a storing step for storing a position data of the fault region; a first testing step(16-22) for testing a region of the position data stored in the storing step; and a second testing step(20) for testing a quality of the rest region except for the tested region. Since the quality testing time of the recording media is decreased and the quality testing instrument is also decreased, the manufacturing cost is decreased.
