PURPOSE: A method and a device for conducting a cell route test between ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) switchboard processes, a process and a subscribers and subscribers by the outside management system of the ATM switchboard that generates, transfers, receives, compares and judges a cell for a test, with a software typed process. CONSTITUTION: The ATM switchboard conducts a software for a cell route test in the outside management system, and connects the interval between the management and maintenance processor of a ATM central switching serve system(ACS) and the outside management system by an ethernet cable of which transfer speed is 100Mbps. When a manage inputs a cell route test request command to the outside management system, the management and maintenance processor of the ACS stores by finding the port number corresponding to the connected link to the ALS.
