PURPOSE: An earth leakage breaker is provided to prevent internal damage thereof and short of a trip coil by generating leakage current having a constant value irrespective of set of a rated sensitivity current value. CONSTITUTION: The earth leakage breaker comprises a leakage current generator artificially generating predetermined leakage current applying constant input power; an image current transformer detecting leakage current applying the current leakage and tri-state alternative power generated in the leakage current generator; a sensitivity current selector selecting sensitivity current from detection current of the image current transformer; an exclusive integrated circuit comparing and judging the leakage current detected from the image current transformer with the sensitivity current selected from the sensitivity current selector; a trip coil being continuous according to an output signal of the exclusive integrated circuit; and a power unit in which power is applied or cut off according to continuity or not of the trip coil.
