PHOTOTRANSFORMING GLASS COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION METHOD OF PHOTOTRANSFORMING CLASS USING THIS

PURPOSE: A glass composition is provided which endows plate glass for a greenhouse use with the function of emanating light whose wavelength band(530-680nm) increases photosynthesis reaction to promote the growth of plants. CONSTITUTION: The glass composition for transforming light is prepared as follows:(1) Mixing silica sand, soda ash, dolomite, limestone, feldspar and sodium sulfate; (2) Adding 0.1-0.3wt% of a rare earth (Eu¬3+, Sm¬3+, Tb¬3+) oxide powder with its particle size 10μ and its purity not less than 99% to the mixture; (3) Sifting and analyzing the mixture to be uniform and mixing for 24 hours using a mixer mill; (4) Transferring the mixture into a platinum crucible and fusing it at the electric furnace to produce glass; and (5) Cooling the fused glass to 600°C inside the furnace and then cooling again to normal temperature slowly.
