Two adjoining cross profiles (3.1,3.2) are joined by an inserted profile (5) whose parts (6,7) slot into undercut grooves (4) in the respective cross profiles (3.1,3.2), notably as T profile (5) strips (6,7) which are themselves joined by a cylindrical profile (8). Profile (8) has a T shaped supporting profile (9) molded to it and the undercut groove (5) is preceded by a vacant groove. Profile (8) is axially recessed to take a crossbar used to hold the handrail struts, each strut fitted with a connector to be fork-linked to the other strut connector by the specified crossbar.
