One or both (8,9) platform sections is fitted with bent supporting bars (23,25) to support the other respective platform section close to the edge so as to allow this other section to swing up as required. The bars slide into open channels in the respective section along the rotation axis and the bars are arranged so as to alternate along the respective section edges. Otherwise plates can be used as supports and are arranged parallel to the standing surfaces of the respective platform sections (8,9). In cases where the supporting elements expand in step form at their ends, these steps underpin one another from the respective sections. The supports in all forms form an integral part of the section frame rail (16), the frame here resting on the top flange (18) of a crossbar (15) forming part of the respective platform section.
