PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to create a holographic stereogram within a short time. SOLUTION: In this hologram creating device, a multiple view point planar image is displayed on a liquid crystal panel 14 according to each region in which an element hologram of a photosensitive material 17 is recorded, and an image having a transmission region according to the position of the region is displayed on a liquid crystal panel 16. One of laser beams emitted from a laser beam source 10 and branched into two by a half-mirror 13 is amplitude- modulated by the liquid crystal panel 14, and diffused by a diffuser 15, and made incident on the region of the photosensitive material 17 corresponding to the transmission region displayed on the liquid crystal panel 16 as an object beam. The other laser beam halved by the half-mirror 13 is made incident on the region of the photosensitive material 17 corresponding to the transmission region displayed on the liquid crystal panel 16 as a reference beam. The object beam and the reference beam made incident on the photosensitive material 17 are interfered with each other and an element hologram is recorded.
