发明名称 Verfahren zur Herstellung von Holzfurnierblättern mit künstlicher Maserung
摘要 1,040,758. Woodworking. AARONSON BROS. Ltd., and M. ALLEN. Oct. 30, 1963 [Nov. 19, 1962], No. 43721/62. Heading B5L. A method of producing a sheet of wood veneer comprises the steps of cutting a plurality of veneer laminations which are then formed into a shaped block having all the laminations similarly bent in order to provide two intersecting concavities in one surface of the block, and slicing from the block with a knife sheets of veneer having smooth surfaces suitable for polishing. The laminations 1 are formed from sheet stripped from a log and are arranged in a stack with adhesive therebetween and the grain of all the laminations running in parallel. The stack is placed between the dies 2, 3 of a press, the dies having a U-shaped contour in two directions at right angles so that when the stack is pressed, the stack forms a block 7 having a U- shaped surface in two directions at right angles with the grain 9 and flower 8 running in the directions shown. The curvature across the width of the block is considerably greater than that along the length. The block is then removed from the press and inverted to enable a knife 10 to move horizontally and slice veneers from the block. The block may be positioned horizontally, the flower of the veneer sheets then being in the form of complete loops, or, preferably, the block is positioned in a slightly inclined position by first removing a corner 12a, some of the flower 14 of the sheets then running substantially parallel to the edge of the sheet. Alternatively, the sheets may be sliced from a longitudinal side edge of the block or by the knife of a rotary cutting machine. The dies of the press may be modified to produce irregular flower.
