The anti-theft system comprises a first secure box 1 with an ignition barrel 4 and a holder 7 for a removable gearstick 3. A second secure box 11 is attached to the floor to prevent access to the vehicle pedals, the box 11 having a door 14 which can be opened by a motor 13. The ignition barrel 4 is connected electrically to the gearstick holder 7 by a cable 9 and to the door motor 13 by a cable 10. When leaving the vehicle, the driver removes both the key 2 and the gearstick 3. In order to be able to drive the vehicle again, the ignition key 2 and gearstick 3 are replaced and both must be turned together to energise the motor 13 which opens the door 14 to allow access to the pedals, and to enable the engine to start. |
