PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reinforcing a concrete bar-shaped structure wherein a concrete bar-shaped structure can be surely reinforced and a reinforcing work can be conducted easily and at low costs. SOLUTION: A tensile force is applied to a bolt 321 of a tightening member 32 of a reinforcing tool 30 to compress a column 20 through a corner piece 31 connected by the member 32. Thus, the expansion of a compressed portion of the column 20 can be suppressed and cracks can be prevented from being produced in the compressed portion thereof so that the column can be surely reinforced. In this case, there is no need to cover the column 20 with steel plates, and expensive members such as fiber reinforced resins are not used, and further a complicate operation such as winding of reinforcing bars, additional placement of concrete, or boring of through holes is not required, and the economy of space can be achieved, and hence a reinforcing work can be easily performed at a low cost.
