PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey sheets reliably in a sheet conveying device even if its sheet conveying rollers have talc or sheet powder adhering thereto. SOLUTION: The sheet conveying device comprises a sheet stack means where sheets are stacked up, and a sheet conveying means for conveying sheets out of the sheet stack means. The sheet conveying means includes a driving rotor 7 and a driven rotor 8 both pressed against each other by a pressure means 9 to form a nip. the driving rotor 7 has on its periphery a plurality of depressions V1 to V3 (V) whose pitch P is set not larger than the length N of the nip and which define therebetween projections of a height (h) set larger than the radial compressive deformation of the driving rotor 7.
