PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To limit a power supply output current in a short-circuited state or shut down a power supply by providing a current sensor for detecting an output current and for generating a voltage that is proportional to the output current and a controller with an overvoltage protection circuit. SOLUTION: An integrated protection circuit 205 is provided with an operational amplifier circuit that is connected between a current sensor 130 and a feedback controller 160 and a conductive path that is connected between an operational amplifier 210 and an overvoltage comparator 162. Then, a resistance circuit where a shutdown resistor 224 and an overvoltage resistor 125 are connected between the output of a comparator and the operational amplifier 210 prescribes voltage and its related current, thus allowing an overvoltage protection circuit to interact with the integrated protection circuit 205, thus limiting or shutting down a power supply output current when the output of an overvoltage comparator 162 increases due to either overvoltage stage or short-circuited state.
