<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To externally retrieve information in a database only with an e-mail terminal by providing a retrieving means which receives a retrieval condition for e-mail transmission and retrieves the database according to the received retrieval condition and a transmitting means which automatically returns a retrieval result in a designated method. SOLUTION: A user 1 transmits a retrieval condition and an answering method to a database retrieving answering device 2 by e-mail. The device 2 retrieves a database 3 with the received retrieval condition and automatically answers the retrieval result to the user 1 in a designated method. According to the method, a portable telephone which is provided with an e-mail function and is inexpensive and light in weight and a portable terminal can easily extract needed information from the database. Also, if a FAX is used as an answering method, it is possible to avoid an unusable result due to during speech communication as the conventional FAX answering system and to easily extract image information in the database by e-mail.</p> |
