PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pay proper royalty, corresponding to the amount of works to be utilized to a copyright holder in a system for making the work into data and distributing them. SOLUTION: A television music broadcasting program is distributed from a distributor 1 via a ground station 2 and a satellite 3, and a music program is distributed while using plural audio channels. A subscriber searches the desired piece of music out of a music list displayed on the screen of a television receiver 4d and downloads it to a storage device 4c. In this case, a pay-per-view system for charging for the unit of a piece of music is adopted. At downloading, the record of purchase is stored on the IC card of reception equipment 4b, and this purchase record is transmitted periodically to a client managing center 6. The client managing center 6 calculates viewing charges and issue a demand to the subscriber. A copyright managing device 104 of the distributor 1 acquires the purchase record of pieces of music from the client managing center 6 and calculates the royalty which is to be paid to the copyright holder. |
