PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor which is reduced in parts cost, has a good rotational characteristic, and is not noisy. SOLUTION: A spindle motor is constituted in such a way that a clearance (s) is provided between the inner peripheral surface 14a of a stator core 14 and the outer peripheral surface 15a of a stator core attaching section 15 having a smooth cylindrical shape, and the stator core 14 and a shaft 1 are arranged in a prescribed positional relation in design. In addition, the stator core 14 is fixed to the stator core attaching section 15 by filling up the clearance (s) with an adhesive 16.
