PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition excellent in heat resistance and low permittivity by using a polyfunctional cyanic ester resin and a film-forming epoxy polymer having a specified number-average molecular weight as the essential components. SOLUTION: This composition essentially consists of a polyfunctional cyanic ester resin or a prepolymer thereof [e.g. 2,2-bis(4-cyanatophenyl)propane] desirably being a cyanic ester resin derived from bisphenol A or a prepolymer thereof and a film-forming epoxy polymer having a number-average molecular weight of 1,000 or above. Desirably, it contains additionally a curing catalyst (e.g. zinc naphthenate). It is desirable that the curing catalyst is used in such an amount that the entire resin composition has a gel time of 1-15 min at specified temperatures of 80-250 deg.C. It is desirable that the epoxy polymer is the one represented by the formula (wherein (i) is 0-4; and (n) is a positive number). |
