PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed alkaline storage battery with a safety valve having a stable working pressure. SOLUTION: A valve element 16, used in a safety valve for releasing a pressure to the outside in case that the internal pressure of a battery case is raised over a prescribed value, has a formation laminated by a rubber material layer 20 and a metal material layer 22, and an opening part for releasing the pressure of the battery case is closed by the metal material layer 22 of the valve element 16. In case that the internal pressure of the battery case is raised, such a structure functions that the pressure is received by the metal material layer 22 and that the rubber material layer 20 is elastically deformed and shrunk to thereby operate the safety valve. |
