PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting method for improving the beautiful appearance of the side edge of an interlock stitch fabric and the productivity of the fabric and provide a knit fabric produced thereby. SOLUTION: An interlock stitch fabric including rib-knit fabric such as milano rib is knitted by a double system or higher system using a flat-knitting machine. In the above process, a piping is formed by a process to introduce a proper number (one or more) of needles of each of front and rear beds into at least one of the side edge part of the knit fabric, finish the knitting of the side edge part of the knitfinishing side of the course knit with the needles of a bed and start the knitting of the subsequent course knit with the needles of the other bed and a process to perform the course knitting from the yarn feeding port of the frontside track in the order when the finish of knitting of the side edge part is performed by the needle of the rear bed or perform the course knitting from the yarn feeding port of the rear-side track in the order when the finish of knitting of the side edge part is performed by the needle of the front bed. |
