Process for continuously anodising aluminium strips or wires

The Al (alloy) strip or wire is coated with a porous oxide layer by continuously anodising in an electrolyte in two stages. During the first stage, the anodising voltage (U1) is chosen to form a fine porous structure and during the second stage it is increased (U2) to a value which produces a coarser porous structure and leads to the required final oxide thickness.
