PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator which meets the requirement for short height by reducing the overall height as much as possible as a piezoelectric oscillator, which has an electronic component mounted on its top surface and a piezoelectric vibrator on the reverse surface and electromagnetically shields a space including a printed board, etc., with a metallic case and a metallic base. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric oscillator in electromagnetic shield structure which has the electronic component 23 mounted on the top surface of the printed board 21 and the piezoelectric vibrator 22 on the reverse surface, electromagnetically shields the space on the top surface of the printed board with the metallic case, and surround the space on the reverse surface of the printed board with the metallic base is reduced in height by bringing the piezoelectric vibrator and metallic base into contact with each other and forming in the metallic base a hole, into which a lead terminal extending downward from the printed board is inserted without contacting.
