<p>Waste polymeric materials are converted into products for energy production by bringing the polymeric material into a plastic state; immersing the material in its plastic state in a continuously agitated molten metal bed at a depth of 2-15 cm to obtain gaseous products that migrate in a gas space above the bed; and collecting the products by suction from the gas space maintained at 320-430[deg]C. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for converting waste polymeric material into products useful for energy production, which comprises a reactor containing a molten metal bed and a space above the molten metal bed, a feeding extruder for feeding the polymeric material in plastic state into the molten metal bed, a condensation column connected to the space above the molten metal bed of the reactor, and a collecting unit connected to the condensation column.</p> |
