Conversion of waste polymeric materials into products useful for energy production by bringing the material into plastic state, immersing the material in its plastic state in molten metal bed, and collecting the gaseous products

Waste polymeric materials are converted into products for energy production by bringing the polymeric material into a plastic state; immersing the material in its plastic state in a continuously agitated molten metal bed at a depth of 2-15 cm to obtain gaseous products that migrate in a gas space above the bed; and collecting the products by suction from the gas space maintained at 320-430[deg]C. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for converting waste polymeric material into products useful for energy production, which comprises a reactor containing a molten metal bed and a space above the molten metal bed, a feeding extruder for feeding the polymeric material in plastic state into the molten metal bed, a condensation column connected to the space above the molten metal bed of the reactor, and a collecting unit connected to the condensation column.
