PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image receiving sheet for ink jet recording which is composed of a resin layer, with a peculiar composition and a structure, of powder coating composition particles, which are at least partially covered and separated by inorganic microparticles, as the constituent of an ink receiving layer. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an image receiving sheet for ink jet recording with outstanding surface smoothness is to apply a powder mixture of a powder coating composition containing a colorant and resin and inorganic microparticles on a base in a dry coating fashion, and thermally melt and fix the powder mixture. In addition, the method is to manufacture a powder coating-applied sheet having a resin layer, consisting of powder coating composition particles, whose surface is at least partially covered by inorganic microparticles as an ink receiving layer on the base and also the inorganic microparticles exposed on the resin layer, and finally press the powder coating-applied sheet using a calender roll. |
