The heterologous antigen presentation system based on the sharka virus (PPV) comprises a chimeric PPV particle formed by assembly of the modified PPV capsid protein (CP) which contains at least one heterologous antigen in said modified CP, said antigen being located on the external surface of said PPV viral particle. Said heterologous antigen is preferably situated at the amino terminal end of the modified PPV CP. In a specific embodiment the construction of a system for presentation of an immunologically active epitope derived from the canine parvovirus (CPV) protein VP2 is described. These antigen presentation systems can be used in diagnosis and vaccines.
