PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage jobs by a sheet of paper and to perform printing with good efficiency by determining the priority of a job which is accepted within a stack time and performing the printing of the job according to the determined priority. SOLUTION: When jobs arrive from host computers 12, 13, and 14 connected to a network 10, it is decided whether or not a received job is a 1st job. When it is decided that the received job is not the 1st job, job which arrive within the set stack time are stacked. When it is decided that the stack time is elapsed, the priority of the jobs is determined. Then a timer 26 is reset and printing is carried out by spooling data. In this case, printing is started while the priority of a job using the same paper feed cassette with a job currently in printing in set high, and then the frequency of operation for changing paper feed cassettes is decreased. The loss time in printing is therefore shortened.
