PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens meter by which the P.D. value between the right-eye lens and the left-eye lens of glasses to be inspected can be measured by measuring the pupil distance, of the glasses to be inspected, obtained on the basis of the position detection result of a contact member with the glasses, capable of being moved to the direction of the pupil distance up to a position, in which the left-eye lens is refracted and measured, from a position in which the right-eye lens is refracted and measured. SOLUTION: Glasses S are pressed to a cradle 1, their parallelism with the cradle 1 is detected, and a left lens A and a right lens B are placed on a nosepiece 2 at the upper end of a measuring part. The glasses S are moved back and forth by a cradle movement lever, and the glasses S can be moved right and left. A wear plate 5 is held integrally by a movement member 6 which can be moved relatively only to the longitudinal direction of the cradle 1. One side of a sliding brush 7 is slid on a linear resistor 8, and the other side is slid on a conductor. A voltage which is changed due to its sliding operation is amplified, and it is converted by an A/D converter so as to be sent to a CPU. Voltages in positions before and after the movement of the sliding brush 7 are differentiated, and they are converted by the CPU into the distance between optical centers of the lenses A, B so as to be displayed on a display part as a P.D. value.
