PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component mounter and a mounting method, in which the images of various kinds of electronic component can be picked up at high speed when the electronic part is transferred onto a board, while being vacuum chucked to the nozzle of a transfer head. SOLUTION: A transfer head 11 is assembled integrally with a line sensor section 50, means 56, 57, 59 for moving the line sensor section 50 horizontally below an electronic component P vacuum chucked to a nozzle 33, a motor 21 performing fine adjustment of distance between the electronic component P and the line sensor section 50 by causing the nozzle 33 to move vertically depending on the kind of the electronic component P, a ball screw 25 and a nut 26, so that the image of the electronic component P is picked up at the line sensor section 50. |
