PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an inspection object more speedily with a higher sensitivity by forming an immune complex on a stationary phase of a water-absorptive base through immunochromatography. SOLUTION: A mixture of a liquid containing a sample to be inspected, a liquid containing a first marker body, a liquid containing a second marker body and a liquid containing an intervening substance for mediating a bond between a third and a fourth immunochemical components is dropped and developed from one end, namely, a liquid absorption part of a water-absorptive base. The immune complex moves along with the movement of the liquids on the water-absorptive base and bonds with a first immunochemical component which is immobilized to a stationary phase, thereby being caught on the stationary phase. Marker substances constituting the first and second marker bodies are thus collected, bonded on the stationary phase, so that a detection signal is amplified. As a result, the presence of an object of inspection is proved. Pretreatment for the sample to be inspected can be omitted in inspecting feces, a blood or the like according to another preferred embodiment which is accordingly more efficient.
