PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily synthesize images almost without causing any misalignment of a main object between respective images and to obtain the image having a wide dynamic range. SOLUTION: In the case of photographing, it is discriminated whether the misalignment is not caused between respective frame images without almost causing the motion of the main object. This discrimination is performed based on whether or not an image pickup device is attached to a tripod by a tripod detecting switch 36. Only when it is discriminated the misalignment of the object is not caused between the respective frame images, the photographing is performed plural times at prescribed time intervals by an image pickup means provided with a solid-state imaging device 16, and the quantity of exposure to be controlled by an exposure control part 32 is changed every time the image is picked up. Thus, the image can be obtd. without any occurrence of misalignment between the respective frame images, the images can be satisfactorily synthesized and the images of the wide dynamic range can be obtd.
