PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fetching device for a visible image and an invisible code image which does not need both a camera and a separate code reader by an image separator being able to switch between an image fetching state and a data reading state and having specific characteristics for the image fetching state and the data reading state. SOLUTION: A digital image detection device 28 has photosensitivity in a frequency band of a visible light and a frequency band of invisible electromagnetic radiation. An optical system 26 in fetching devices 10 and 10a focuses a frequency band of an electromagnetic radiation upon an image detection device 28. The image separator is provided in the fetching devices 10 and 10a, is functionally related to an image detection device 18 and the optical system 16, and is switchable between an image fetching state and a data reading state. The image separator has the nature of attenuation for a frequency band of the invisible light and has the nature of transparency for the frequency band of the visible light. Also, in the data reading state, the device has the nature of attenuation for the frequency band for the visible light and the nature of transparency for the frequency band for the invisible light.
