PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with high safety, high capacity, and high cycle characteristics. SOLUTION: A negative electrode material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is complex particles formed by covering a solid phase A with a solid phase B, the solid phase A is lithium metal, one element capable of alloying with lithium, or a solid solution or an intermetallic compound containing at least one metal capable of alloying with lithium, the solid phase B is formed with a solid solution or an intermetallic compound containing lithium or at least one element capable of alloying with lithium, for forming the solid phase A, and the complex particles are a mixed conductor of lithium ions and electrons. |
