PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate channel selection by registering channel information in a format in which it is linked with item information and selecting a channel by using network information showing its section when the channel is accessed. SOLUTION: Channel information is associated with transmission item information of a network and a channel is registered on a memory of a channel accessing part 500. When a viewer accesses the registered channel, a channel retrieving part retrieves the corresponding channel, also a network retrieving part of the part 500 accesses the network by using network information showing the section of the channel and a controlling part controls a network switching controlling part 205 and a channel selecting part 206 with the channel information and the network information. Thus, the viewer can view a desired channel only by switching channels without being aware of the network to which the channel belongs.
