PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for transmitting first encoded data prepared by an information source facsimile equipment to the facsimile equipment of a destination. SOLUTION: This method is executed by a transmitter bidirectionally connected to the information source facsimile equipment 123 and 403. It is provided with a step for detecting the first encoded data outputted from the information source facsimile equipment 123 and 403, preparing second encoded data by encoding the data and transmitting the second data perferably to a station on a reception side provided with a base station, a mobile exchange center and an interconnection function. In the preferable execution form, the first encoded data are one-dimensionally encoded by a modified Huffman encoding system and the second encoded data are two-dimensionally encoded by a modification modified read(MMR) encoding system.
