PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, which supplies display data of each color to a liquid crystal panel, suitable for a transmission liquid crystal display device using a back light. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device where a back light of three color light is caused to emit light in time division to perform full color display, display data of respective colors inputted in parallel are temporarily stored in memories 32R, 32G, and 32B, and the memory (32R, 32G, or 32B) of one color is selected by a switch circuit 33 during emission of light of this color, and a one-frame portion of display data of this color is successively outputted to a source driver 21 of a TFT panel 3. A two-stage constitution of alternate read and write processings is given to these memories 32R, 32G, and 32B.
