摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure interlayer insulation in spite of miniaturization by providing the head with a cross-sectional shape, of which the front surface constitutes a projecting curvilinear surface in a specific range of a region where coil layers are wound and the angle of inclination of the flanks has a value within a specific range. SOLUTION: This magnetic head has a cross-sectional shape, of which the front surface constitutes the projecting curvilinear surface in the range of 50 to 100% of the winding region of the coil layers, and the angleθof inclination of the flanks exists within the range of 80 to 90 deg.C. An insulating resin layer 17 is formed on the coil layers of the first layer, and a photomask is positioned on a resist film formed on the surface of a ground surface conductive layer 6b, through which the resist film is exposed. The photomask is so patterned that the coils of the second layer exists between the coils of the second layers. In succession, an insulating resin layer 17b is formed on the coils of the second layer, and furthermore an upper magnetic pole 7 is laminated. The coil layers of the first layer and the coil layers of the second layer formed in such a manner are electrically directly connected through wiring. The number of windings of the coil layers is decreased in the arraying direction of the coils, by which the magnetic path length of the magnetic poles is shortened.
