OPTICAL MULTIPLEX TRANSMITTER AND OPTICAL MULTIPLEX TRANSMISSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start communication by starting stably and efficiently each node without provision of a start signal exclusive transmission line in addition to an optical multiplex transmission line. SOLUTION: A master node 1 transmits a biphase coding signal as a start signal to switch a sleep mode into a multiplex communication mode to all slave nodes 2a-2n via an optical multiplex transmission line 3. A valid input discrimination section 23 of each slave node discriminates whether or not a signal received from the master node is the biphase coding signal, a mode switching section 34 switches the sleep mode into the multiplex communication mode when the received signal is the biphase coding signal to activate an interface section 15 in the multiplex communication mode and an AND circuit 12 permits communication with other nodes when the received signal is the biphase coding signal.
